Understanding God’s everlasting love for us requires KNOWLEDGE about “JESUS, The Way to Salvation.” There is no trouble too great, no humiliation to deep, no suffering too severe, no love too strong, no labor to hard, no expense too large, but that it is worth it, if it is spent in the effort to win an immortal soul. God loves the soul more than all creation. He fashioned it after His own image, and made it like unto Himself.

Every soul (us) has departed from God and gone astray, and God has bought every soul back again with a price. That price was in, through, and by Jesus Christ. God loves every soul with an everlasting love.

HGCWC’s Goal

Our goal is to help you to always know what your next step should be toward spiritual maturity. The best way to discover your next step is to join us for The Way To Jesus, offered every four to six weeks.

Who are next steps for?

Next steps are designed for anyone who desires to become part of God’s family (Father, Son, Holy Spirit, and the Church).

What are next steps?

These lessons on the great doctrines of the Bible are simple without being ordinary, short without being shallow, brief without being dwarfed, positive without being stilted, and comprehensive without being complicated. They are provided to fill a need in the life of the average Christian, to provide and incentive to know more of God’s Holy Word. If diligently studied, they will help to establish you in the Faith and give you spiritual confidence.

Step 1 – Knowing the Bible

It is so important for a young Christian to start right; therefore, these next step classes are designed to help establish your faith in the Bible, for it is the Word of God. Keep in mind that the Bible is not a book of philosophy, although it is philosophical. Do not go to the Bible for a scientific treatise. Someone has said of the Bible: “Read it to be wise, believe it to be safe, and practice it to be right.”

Step 2 – Knowing God

The Bible reveals God as the only Infinite and Eternal Being, having no beginning and no ending. He is creator and sustainer of all things. He is the Supreme Personal Intelligence, a Righteous Ruler of His universe. He is life, and therefore, the only source of life (John 5:26).

Step 3 – Knowing Jesus Christ (the Son of God)

Christianity differs from all religions, because it is more than a religion – it is the life of the Son of God made living in man. Christ is Christianity, and Christianity is Christ. He is the supreme subject of each book of the New Testament and fulfills all the promises of God in the Old Testament, from His incarnation to His Second Coming as “Lord of Lords and King of Kings” (Rev. 17:14).

Step 4 – Knowing the Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit is God and is equal to the Father and the Son. You should never speak of Him as “It” or refer to Him as an influence. He is God the Holy Spirit and is set forth in the Bible as being distinct from the Father and the Son. In the Genesis account of creation, He is seen actively engaged in the work of creation, along with the Father and the Son. The study of the person and work of the Holy Spirit is of utmost importance. A scriptural understanding of God the Holy Spirit will make you a better Christian and servant of God.

Step 5 – Knowing the Church

Jesus said, “I will build My Church (Ecclesia)” (Matt. 16:18). Ecclesia means a called-out assembly or congregation. God called Israel out of Egypt, they congregated in the wilderness, they were, “the Church in the wilderness.” Today, God calls the saved out of the world to congregate in worship. This is the Church in the world, in it but not of it. Unlike the Church in the wilderness, the Church that Jesus is building will never cease.
